The cultivation of the vine dating back to the Gallo-Roman era and the "modern" vineyard in the eighteenth century. Benefiting from an absolutely unique terroir and a great continuity in the property Ausone sees its reputation gradually established to reach the very first rank of the appellation of St Emilion: it will be the only one with Cheval Blanc to become "Premier Grand Cru class・・ A" in 1959.
